FEAS professor delivers lecture at MIT on current status of world nuclear-power industry and future trends
On October 14, , Professor, (FEAS), shared his views on the current status of world nuclear-power industry and future trends, including small modular reactors (SMRs), in a lecture delivered at the ’s Nuclear Science and Engineering Department.
Dr. Pioro is a well-known promoter of nuclear power engineering around the world. He has delivered many lectures, seminars and presentations in universities with nuclear-engineering departments, and at nuclear-related organizations and companies.
In his lecture, Dr. Pioro presented the latest statistics and trends in the nuclear-power industry, including the impact of three severe nuclear accidents on the world nuclear industry, and a short overview on SMRs.
Dr. Pioro based his lecture on his recent articles on the status of the nuclear power industry, which he has published together with other Ontario Tech nuclear-engineering experts participating in SMR research, including Dr. Rachid Machrafi, Professor and Dr. Jennifer McKellar, Associate Professor, FEAS, and Master of Applied Science in Nuclear Engineering student Nikita Dort-Goltz:
